Types of leave, how much you're entitled to, and how to request it.

  • Employees are entitled to 9 days of annual leave during their first year of employment.
  • Upon completing one year of service, the annual leave balance increases to 15 days per year.

Leave requests must be submitted and approved by your direct manager at least 2 weeks in advance.

Unpaid leave

Used in cases of insufficient or ineligible annual leave days (such as during a probation period or internship) and is treated the same as annual leave.

Work from home

Full-time employees who've passed probation also have a monthly work-from-home allocation based on department. See Remote Work for the full policy and department table.

Parental leave

We're committed to supporting employees during the important life event of welcoming a child into their family.

Maternity leave

  • Applies to all full-time female employees continuously employed for at least 10 months at the time of the expected birth.
  • Daily working hours are reduced by at least one hour starting from the sixth month of pregnancy.
  • No overtime is assigned during pregnancy and for six months following the birth.
  • 4 months of fully paid maternity leave (100% of regular salary), claimable a maximum of 2 times across your employment with Progressio.
  • Return-to-work benefit: a reduced workday by one hour daily for two years from the date of birth, for nursing.

Paternity leave

  • Eligible fathers receive 2 weeks of paid paternity leave at 100% of regular salary.
  • May be taken continuously or in smaller increments during the first month following the birth.

Notice & continuation of benefits

  • Provide written notice to your supervisor and the People department at least 8 weeks before your intended leave start date.
  • Health insurance and other benefits continue during the paid portion of your leave.
  • Discuss your return-to-work timeline with your manager ahead of your leave for a smooth transition.

This policy is intended to comply with applicable local and national laws. Where this policy and legal requirements conflict, the law supersedes this policy.

General notes

  • To leave or arrive by midday, you can choose a half day instead of a full day off.
  • The start date is the first day you have off; the end date is the exact day your leave ends. A single day off has the same start and end date.
  • Comments are for any extra reasons or information we should know about.
  • Alignment with all involved stakeholders is a must.

How to apply

All leave requests are submitted digitally through the official Google Form for leaves and permissions. It is mandatory that your request is formally approved by your manager before the leave day takes place.
